At Don Bosco ESL we are committed to a traditional ESL philosophy which maintains that instruction should be done (almost) entirely in English We use textbooks and other materials recommended professionals. We have a retired ESL professor periodically supervising instruction, providing feedback, and conducting workshops for the teachers.
At Don Bosco’s ESL Program, we value the small group approach, because ESL learners hear each other speak and see each other learn and struggle. They can assist one another as needed. A one on one approach is used for “beginners” or GED/citizenship learners.
ESL welcomes Twenty-two to twenty-four learners per session, Mondays – Wednesdays from 9:00 to 11:00, with ten to fifteen teachers. We have eighty active members and thirty active teachers.
