Culinary Skills and Family Development
Our Kitchen Culinary Skills and Family Development Program helps adults and young people gain practical skills for work and everyday life. Participants learn how to safely handle food, cook nutritious meals from basic ingredients, and build confidence in the kitchen.
Participants also earn ServSafe certification, a credential recognized in Westchester and required for food handlers in New York City. This certification opens doors to jobs in restaurants, delis, and other food service settings.
The program also includes conversations about budgeting, nutrition, and healthy meal planning, helping families make the most of what they have while building greater stability at home.
The program runs for six weeks, with the first session beginning April 16. Childcare will be provided so parents can participate fully.
A second session will focus on young adults ages 18 to 24, helping them earn ServSafe certification and gain skills that can lead to employment in our community and beyond. This is an exciting new step for our center and for the people we serve.
Your support helps provide training, certification, and opportunity for members of our community who are working to build stronger futures for themselves and their families.
