Help Us Make Summer Count for Port Chester’s Children
Each August, the Don Bosco Community Center transforms into a place of wonder, learning, and joy. From 8 AM to 4 PM, our Summer Camp provides children with STEAM workshops, hands-on learning, literacy and math enrichment, nutritious meals, and weekly field trips—all in a safe, caring, and Salesian enviroment.

The Need Is Urgent
Camp costs have increased, and tuition has gone from $160 to $240 per week, placing it out of reach for many of the children we serve. At the same time, we’re working to raise additional funds to install mobile AC units in our gym and kitchen hall, ensuring campers and staff stay safe and cool during the summer’s hottest days.
For many Port Chester families, this camp is more than summer fun—it’s a lifeline. It offers affordable childcare, healthy meals, and peace of mind for working parents. But rising costs now threaten access for the very families who need it most.
We invite you to join us in making this summer possible for every child.

Your gift provides Access to:
Five full weeks of camp – Reliable, affordable childcare from 8 AM–4 PM
Campers are welcomed each weekday into a structured, joy-filled environment where they receive consistent care from trained staff and volunteers. From morning drop-off to afternoon dismissal, children are engaged in a full day of educational, recreational, and faith-inspired programming. For working families, this program provides not only peace of mind but a reliable and affordable alternative to expensive childcare.
Daily meals – Breakfast, lunch, and snacks to keep kids nourished and energized
Every camper receives a healthy breakfast upon arrival, a balanced lunch midday, and nutritious snacks throughout the day. Meals are prepared on-site and designed to meet the dietary needs of growing children. For many families facing food insecurity, this ensures that their children have access to three dependable meals a day, five days a week, during the summer months.
Weekly field trips – Excursions to parks, museums, and cultural sites
Once a week, campers head out on exciting field trips to local destinations like nature preserves, science museums, historical landmarks, and community attractions. These outings expand children’s horizons, expose them to new experiences, and reinforce learning in real-world settings—all while offering opportunities for exploration, fun, and friendship.
Learning loss prevention – Kids return to school ready to excel in September
Through daily academic enrichment sessions focused on literacy and math, campers maintain and strengthen the skills they gained during the school year. Staff and trained volunteers lead small-group instruction disguised as games and creative challenges, ensuring children avoid the “summer slide” and return to school confident, prepared, and eager to learn.
