Don Bosco Workers, Inc. Program

At the Don Bosco Community Center, we recognize that meaningful employment is essential to stability and dignity. That is why we partner with Don Bosco Workers, Inc., a program rooted in the spirit of St. John Bosco that uplifts day laborers and trade workers by offering not only job opportunities but also fairness, safety, and community.

Founded in 2006 in Port Chester, New York, Don Bosco Workers, Inc. is a grassroots organization led by day laborers and low-income workers. The program advocates for fair pay, safe working conditions, and equal access to the labor market. Safety is a core priority, and members receive OSHA-certified training to ensure they are well prepared and protected on every job site.

Mission

Don Bosco Workers, Inc. educates workers about their rights, connects them with employers, negotiates fair wage contracts, and helps recover unpaid or stolen wages. Through this collaboration, workers gain reliable employment, employers receive quality work, and both parties build trust and accountability. The focus is simple: dignity, respect, and fair compensation for every worker.

Through this partnership, the Don Bosco Community Center extends its mission beyond food, clothing, and education. We offer a pathway to fair employment, greater security, and a sense of belonging for all who seek opportunity.
